printing (2d) - publication - painting - drawing - screen printing

As a visual artist I create two-dimensional images. I mainly work with acrylic paint on paper. I also like to draw and I am inspired by different printing techniques, such as the screen printing technique and the letterpress technique.

In the work I make I try to find a balance between form and subject. I work carefully on small details because they fascinate me in painting.

The process by which my art is created differs per work, in general I take the time to think about what I want to say with the image. This usually starts with an idea, a problem, an observation and a few small sketches. This process can take an hour to sometimes a week. When I know what kind of work I want to make, I start painting. New ideas often arise during painting. Sometimes I realize, for example, during the elaboration that the work should not be a painting but a print. I like to be guided by the artwork. Making is thinking.
