Laura Schurink

abstract - collage - installation - objects - sculpture

The compositions Laura Schurink creates are playful ensembles full of color, shapes and textures. Her refined sense of aesthetics is shaped by her origins in fashion design. However, she renounced this polluting industry in order to continue in a sustainable way as an autonomous artist.
Laura takes found and second-hand materials out of their context and lets them participate in new constructions. This gives the items a new meaning, regardless of their original function. Each composition is a search for a playful balance between color, shape, texture and material, in which Laura is guided by the materials she has at her disposal. Her elegant sculptures come together in a pastel-colored decor accompanied by lights, fabrics and shapes.
