As a multidisciplinary maker I try not to see film, theater and audio separately, but to combine them, and let them reinforce each other. By allowing the audience in film to be carried along on an auditory and narrative level, there is more room for the chaos, the alienating, for which I am fascinated. The inner worlds of all kinds of (real) people, beneath the definable surfaces, which are beautiful in their capriciousness and the unexpected.

    • Location: Rotterdam, Rotterdam
    • The story of the young illustrator Pia who crosses the ocean in a small boat is seized upon by the filmmaker Marte Bosma as an attempt to escape the uncertainty of existence. Images of the sea turn into hypnotic scenes in which surreal drawings and photos blur the line between reality and the bizarre.

    • In collaboration with: Dutch National Opera
    • Location: Rotterdam, Rotterdam
    • I converted an opera performance by the MBO theater school, under the direction of physical theater director Gregory Caers, into a video clip, commissioned by the Dutch National Opera. In addition, I made a documentary about this process, in which I followed the students who together search for movements that are heavy and tiring, while at the same time giving a reason for the class to drag each other through this time.

    • An audio documentary about prankster Rient, who, while never having run a day before, takes part in a bet to run the Rotterdam marathon. He doesn't have much time to train, because it will take place in less than a month. An autonomous project, in which I produced the audio design, editing and part of the music myself.
