I am Noortje Stortelder, a visual artist with a background in advertising and design. In my interdisciplinary practice I weave together sculpture, photography, animation and AI models. My compositions aim to capture the tensions and twists found in liminal spaces, that delicate balance between dark and light, unity and fragmentation, and the physical and digital domains.
In my search for aesthetic and ontological meaning, I portray classical figures through fragmented and alienated frameworks. My work is driven by a radical and tireless exploration of the body, crossing countless disciplines and media.
This results in reflective works of art that raise new questions about the body and its complex relationship with the past and the future.
