Otto Snoek

documentary - photography

My documentary photography reflects modern city life in the Western world, taking my hometown of Rotterdam as a starting point, benchmark and reference. With my cameras I investigate the paradoxes and apparent chaos in social life, with my preferences being towards crowds of people and urban tranquility.

Exhibition / presentation

  • 03-12-2023 t/m 14-01-2024
  • In collaboration with: Walgenbach Art+Books
  • Location: Gouwstraat 56c, Rotterdam
  • We know photographer Otto Snoek as a chronicler of 21st-century city life, both in Rotterdam and beyond, but in this exhibition he shows a different side: that of the longing for something that is no longer within reach. The exhibition consists of city panoramas that show desolation. They are recent and yet they exude a melancholy longing for an unreachable time.
