Rabin Huissen

archives - conceptual - history - body - human

Rabin Huissen's works are the result of meticulous rituals, in which the artist follows a scenario with instructions he prepares for himself and others, to follow movements in time. The scripts work as a frame on a structural level, where he is the initiator and often 'performer', but where he also invites others to participate. These are the ingredients of Huissen's work: the script that sets out a situation, human contact and the natural conditions that make the experience possible. A diverse spectrum of results appears, from blueprints on a small to human scale, letters and postcards that he exchanges with others, cut-outs that follow his wandering in the city, series of photos and sculptural objects.
