In my drawings I am looking for the Unexpected within both material use and theme.
Visual artist Roebie Starink graduated in 2005 from the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam. In her art she works with things she encounters in her life and often starts drawing something that catches her attention, but then she transforms it by adding or changing elements. Nature often returns in her work. But Roebie is also looking for people, animals or things in unusual situations or not in the expected environment or quality. Nothing is what it seems, there is often something else behind it. Roebie loves drawing and experimenting with different materials.
