Sachia Pereira-Stolle

performance - public space - installation

Sachia Pereira Stolle (NL) builds installations that function as decors for his
performances. The protagonists of these sets are caricatures made of homemade ones
animal costumes. The relationship between these caricatures and certain customs, hierarchies and
other power structures in society is a recurring theme and forms
humorous, dark, confrontational and questioning stories.
By placing these figures in situations where contemporary issues shine through,
the spectator is challenged to interact with this in an open and investigative way
communicate works.
A tragicomic drama arises organically; directed and performed on
location, the documentation of which also manifests itself in various art forms.

Het IJzerblok

Project

  • 30-10-2019 t/m 30-12-2027
  • In collaboration with: Niek Verschoor
  • Location: Coolhaven, Rotterdam
  • The IJzerblok is a block of vacant homes in Delfshaven, Rotterdam, which are now temporary studio spaces. This was founded by me in direct collaboration with Woonbron, so without an anti-squat intermediary. The buildings are now used as studios for art-related WDKA students and professionals until they are demolished or renovated.
