Sekai Makoni

Sekai Makoni is an artist whose primary approach utilizes workshop facilitation. Her expertise spans the social sector, arts and academia. Her work explores Blackness, womanism, de-coloniality, healing and faith. Sekai runs active listening and radical dreaming workshops where she helps groups think about whose voices are centered, how groups can commit to listening to each other in different ways and alternative futures. She is passionate about holding space and facilitation is part of her artistic practice. Currently her focus is on community centered research projects, healing modalities and supporting POC staff institutions claiming to decolonize through a facilitation model called action learning. She also has a radio show on Operator called Sekai Asks and a previous podcast called Between Ourselves - which centered the voices of Black women in Europe.
