I'm in love; on crafts. A book eagerly awaits completion. Drawing and writing, it's the same for me. Ink, paint, pencil shavings, graphite, a brush in a pot of brown water, a fountain pen fluttering over paper, spinning the wheel of the etching press. I like to shake the routine. I pack moments as packages, in texts and images.

I prefer to be in the graphics workshop. Or to draw in a park, or on a terrace. Also back portraits. An attitude says a lot. A cow leaning relaxed in one hip. An ant restlessly running like it's late, way too late.

As a drawing teacher I want to show students, give them self-confidence. I give them a push and let them go.

My graduation work at the academy was nominated. What is ugly, what is beautiful? Apparently it evoked an essential feeling. A little shake to reality.

    • In a course of 8 lessons I teach students how to draw. For beginners who have wanted to try it for years but never really dared. So for starters, but a wonderful boost for those who have already done something. In May 2022 I will give another course and supervise a free studio.

    • Location: Maastunnel, Rotterdam
    • Publieke Werken is an outdoor exhibition throughout Rotterdam with work by more than 670 visual artists, designers, photographers, illustrators and image makers on the outdoor advertising boards. This year, works by children and young people are also included in the selection. Public Works could be seen from 1 July to 1 Aug in the Maastunnel and throughout the city. A book has been published with all the works and postcards have been printed.

    Wednesday Etching Collective exhibition

    • With a number of artists who mainly make etchings, we started a collective with whom I exhibited a few times, including in Antwerp. At each expo we made a limited edition with cards, of each artist 1. We also printed 2nd hand signs with our work.

    The Art of the Murder Ballad

    • Location:, Rotterdam
    • The Bullfight releases their sixth studio album, Eggs & Marrowbone, which focuses on the murder ballad. Not only on blood red vinyl, but also on CD and with an accompanying art book (Eggs & Marrowbone: The Art Of The Murder Ballad) the theme is shown in all its aspects. Music writer and multi-instrumentalist Thomas van der Vliet took a year and a half to persuade more than a hundred artists to contribute. The result does not lie.
