My work consists of a growing group of fictional characters who all tell their story. In the project groups that I set up, I invite people to tell these stories with me, which also creates a growing group of 'real' characters. They all tell their own story. Often the opposite follows one story, if the first one is constantly in motion, the next one stands still. It is not about showing the multitude of differences that exist between personalities, but rather about showing how we all, in a world of loners, form our identity, namely in writing and constantly rewriting our own unique story. A story that also only takes shape in contrast to another; “I am who you are not, was where you were not or have what you do not have.” What part of you still exists when you remove these differences? Who is hiding behind the identity?
