In the exhibition 'Nothing But The Truth', which can be seen at BRUTUS from 7 April to 8 May 2022, artist Peter Koole pays tribute to Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was murdered in 2006, with a series of monumental paintings. Her fearless reporting in which she denounced injustice cost her dearly. Many times she was threatened and arrested. An attempt to poison her failed, but on October 7, 2006 she was still murdered on the sidewalk in front of her apartment in Moscow. The current, impossible situation for the independent press in Russia prompted BRUTUS to show Koole's paintings.
