Angelica Falkeling (they/them) is a white queer Scandinavian artist, performer, costume designer and seamstress based in Rotterdam. They work across art, fashion and theatre. Their versatile art and craft practice focuses on tacit knowledge, unfolding garment histories, paying attention to ethical narration, and performing fun. Their studio practice moves between their laptop and making, closely tied to the movement of the computer's invention mirroring a loom's punchcards 1822. They browse and employ crochet, embroidery, knitting, and sewing in their multi-media practice. They connect vulnerability, hard (metal) and soft (textile) materials, and skilled and unskilled labor as joint sequences in installations. They often collaborate with others and host events in communal spaces, approaching fiber arts as a material and relational practice. Their work has been exhibited and performed at CCA Glasgow, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Museum of Contemporary Art Sofia, Rib, SIGNAL Malmö, Temporary Gallery, Tensta Konsthall, Textielmuseum Tilburg
