glass art - man - collage - painting

My work revolves around human life, my life. I research how family relationships, heredity, but also external factors influence our personality. I visualize my constant internal struggle and my need to look inside other people, understand them and connect with them. In recent years I have studied women's history through matrilineal pedigree research. This led to the portrait series Forgotten Forefathers. My work is personal and vulnerable. Because of my background as an architect, I like to work with different materials and structures. Glass in particular has my fascination. In the vulnerability of glass, I see the vulnerability of people. I also see the hardness, color and reflection. With the sensory properties of the material, I visualize our stories, our emotions, struggles and euphoria.
