Hans Schuttenbeld

drawing - painting - artistic research - environment - collaboration

Hans Schuttenbeld (1991) is a multi- and interdisciplinary maker who calls himself a psychedelic poet since the summer of 2021. In his work he uses trained skills such as calligrapher, painter, draftsman, designer and thinker. Wonder is a main theme from which he starts and works towards.

In 2020 he received the Young Talent Work Grant from the Mondriaan Fund to stimulate his artistic research and collective practices. With his Bachelor of Design degree (WdKA Rotterdam, 2015) he belonged to the first batch of 'young talents' within the revised conditions for this stipend.

Where sharing, connecting and collaborating are among the core values โ€‹โ€‹of Schuttenbeld, he practices this in:
- artist collectives (High on Type, State of Mind)
- teaching (several Dutch art academies & international conferences)
- exhibitions (Kunsthal KAdE, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Netherlands Film Festival)
- studio (together with Jilles de Man in Rotterdam)
- living situation (residential group)
