installation - sculpture - DIY - objects

When you enter a room, it can often give you a feeling. The feeling that a space can give, consciously and unconsciously, intrigues me, they have a strong influence on our moods.
As a visual artist I work around spaces in which we live, work and wait. My own ideas and feelings are always the starting point for creating new work. It is often from a desire and/or a certain incompleteness that I experience that I start a project with. This desire can arise from a space I often find myself in or it can be an abstract space in which my current state of mind can best develop/express.
I work on a space on a project basis for a long period of time. I have worked with spaces such as the kitchen, the bathroom, the studio and the waiting room. But I also work with an idea of a space, a space that cannot be described in concrete terms but adapts to my needs.

The Studio project mainly responded to my desire to build my own studio, to build up my artistry shortly after graduating. For this project and the continuation of my practice, I received the Young Talent grant from the Mondriaan Fund. The 6m high scaffolding cabinet was part of the exhibition at Art Rotterdam

  • At the aga lab I set up a texture study in which I was looking for endless textures to disappear into, look at and forget about time, so to speak. I also experimented with transferring textures to wood by means of screen printing in order to eventually process them in sculptural work. At Steim, I researched sounds associated with time. I made an interactive sound installation from this
