My practice is an enchanting exploration of magic as a remedy and weapon against patriarchal structures. Spells and rituals are treated as poison against structures for individuals whose lives are suchly affected by them. Traversing a series of media – drawing, ceramics, video, writing, and performance – I embed incantations into my creations, inspired by folk tradition and other magical practices.

    • A performance delivered on the main stage of Recyclart in Brussels in the form of a ritual, in order to release an atmosphere of seduction for the party that followed. Surrounded by candles, red lights and projections of my drawings, I read out loud an essayistic autobiographical essay about online dating during quarantine. My intention was to guide the audience through a scripted choreography of the moon phase and introduce them to the world of magic and symbols.

    Cooking Show for KVTV

    • Locatie: Germany, Frankfurt
    • The whole structure of the work is based on personal disappointments, while it creates a moment of relief for those and is mediated in a form of a cooking show. The illustrations constitute images of the witching hour and things/thoughts that arise during night, where the heart rate is slower, body temperature reduced, breathing pattern and blood pressure irregular. In other words, a deep sleep night.

    • This short text is specifically reflecting the last few months, the transition from winter to spring, from having a job to being unemployed. This attempt is an exploration of bitterness' fester procedure, and a question of whether it can turn into something else over time. Echoing the fluidity of a perfume as well as its ability to hold and preserve memories, helped me revisit incidents of dissatisfaction and brokenness.

    • We're excited to announce a special, limited and hand-numbered edition of a Love Spells & Rituals for Another World publication, inspired by our symposium back in May. Featuring an international and interdisciplinary body of artists and researchers, the volume, like the symposium before it, explores desire—and with it sexuality, love, and care—as a kind of evental magick that (in the words of Lauren Berlant) reorganises worlds .

    • The whole structure of the rehearsal is based on personal disappointments, while it creates a moment of relief for those, and is mediated through spell castings and readings. Refusing to promise salvation, I nonetheless point to the powers of exorcism potentially residing in the act of making my work, as a way to spell things out, to ‘let them go’.

    • For the first print publication hooops invited writers, artists, poets, illustrators, plant-and-mushroom-lovers and ecological thinkers from various disciplines to share their knowledge and manifest contemporary narratives around plant magic and plants as poison and remedy. Healing with plants is messy, complex and astonishing.
