Ryan Cherewaty is a media artist from Toronto Canada currently based in Rotterdam. He works mainly in video, CGI and installation. His work is informed by the potential provided by technology in its possibility for celebrating and critiquing contemporary experience. He engages with the relationship of digital media to individual consciousness and social and cultural memory, and how this ecology affects our physical reality. Persistent themes include the paradoxes of modernity, tech as myth and magic, and the dissolving boundaries between the virtual and the real.

    • Chameleon Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition Virtually Real Bodies. With the implementation of various digital media, from virtual reality to augmented reality, artists explore the relationship between subjects and objects formally, conceptually, and socially. Presented artworks speculate the digital mediation of human bodies, and the experiences of corporeal virtualization are highlighted through the utilization of immersive media.

    • The story of David and Goliath could be seen as a predicament and source of inspiration for this group show that includes video, paintings, sculpture and performance. David versus Goliath has become common shorthand for unlikely victory. It denotes an underdog situation, a contest where a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary.
