Van Santen Bolleurs

Van Santen Bolleurs zijn een kunstenaarsduo uit Rotterdam werkend op het kruispunt van de disciplines, fotografie, video en sculptuur.
Samen maken zij kleurrijke beelden en videos waarin huis-,
tuin- en keuken-objecten centraal staan. Ze gebruiken het herkenbare alledaagse leven om de toeschouwer een gevoel van herkenning te geven, waarna alle aannames en vooronderstellingen juist weer onderuit gehaald kunnen worden. Symbolen uit de offline en online wereld, uit de hoge en lage cultuur worden op verrassende manieren gecombineerd gemixt zodat er een nieuwe betekenis kan ontstaan. Het duo heeft een voorliefde voor surrealisme en absurditeit. Hun humoristische blik op de wereld is bedoeld als een tegengif tegen onze prestatiegerichte stressmaatschappij. Het werk heeft bewust deze lichtvoetige en toegankelijke uitstraling maar bevat diepere lagen die zich pas in tweede of derde instantie prijsgeven.
