Eden Calgie

Eden Calgie [b.1996, Middlesbrough] is a folk artist making 2.5D [two-and-a-half dimensional] sculpture, framing, photography, moving image, drawing, 3D print and digital art.
Eden uses photography because it allows a spontaneous, experimental and high-tempo process that forces disconnection of reflection and creation, this allows creation to come directly from the subconscious and placing oneself at the mercy of the environment is a path to more authentic artwork and explores one's sense of identity.
His research stems from an inclusive approach to the external factors that influence the creation of artwork. In order to do this he allows context [broadly: the physical environment, present situation and internal emotional environment of the artist] to directly influence the content. Merging the external and internal worlds.
